Things haven’t been great when it comes to my business in some areas. I have a lot less space than I once did and COVID completely destroyed the candle side of my business. Sourcing glass was my number 1 problem since quarantine. I was forced to rebrand and find new containers, as soon as I did that, I couldn’t get any stock… again. I was frustrated, so I focused on wax melts a bit and did a lot of soul searching when it came to the Mythos Candles brand as a whole.
I soon realized that I needed to make major changes in order to continue with this aspect of my business. I needed to recreate the brand as a whole: new containers, fresh ideas, where to cut costs, etc. Wax, fragrance and containers have almost doubled in price from what they once were and the idea of continuing to maintain the candles as they once were was becoming more and more unrealistic.
The last year I had taken a step back from candle making, partially out of frustration and the other part being burn out. I had fully fleshed out so many new ideas, bought new supplies and just let them sit. Within the last month, I have had not only the motivation again, but my ideas seem stable enough (as in, I can actually find supplies) to start pouring again.
I have completely overhauled the brand and changed materials entirely to assure that I can cut costs, keep things in stock AND pass on more value to you, my customers.
People keep asking me when I am making candles again and I didn’t have a good answer. I do now. The time is now.
In the next coming weeks I hope to have Mythos Candles back up on my online store. Thank you for your patience with me and I’m sorry it’s taken this long.
